Sariska (Alwar)

Nestling in a picturesque valley of the Aravallis, a forest comes to life. Nature's rhythm reveals wildlife in its own natural habitat. This sanctuary established in 1955, offers an exceptional opportunity to see a variety of animals at a close range. There are tiger, nilgai (blue bull), sambar, cheetal, four-horned antelope and wild boar. The thick forests here are the dry deciduous type and over an area of 480 sq. kms.

 

Mount Abu

The Holy Mountain lies at the southern extremity of the Aravalli range. Surrounded by forests, rich in flora and fauna, the town appears as an oasis. The greatest draw of Abu is the Dilwara temples. beautifully carved in marble, the Dilwara temples enshrines various Jain Tirthankaras (Saints).

 

Jaisalmer

This city is a marvel of beautiful culture and harsh climatic conditions. It is located in the heart of arid waste of the Thar Desert and rightly called the Museum City, Jaisalmer invokes vivid visions of love, valor and chivalry.

 

Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambhor)

About 180 km. to the northeast of Jaipur, among the rolling hills of the Vindhya and the Aravalli ranges, lies the town of Sawai Madhopur. The town founded in 1765 AD was named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I of Jaipur. Today Sawai Madhopur is known for Ranthambhor, a wild life reserve and a place of historical importance.

 

Ajmer - Pushkar

Ajmer is most important as the final resting place of the great Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. Muslim's from all over the world revere the Dargah Sharif, where the saint lies buried. This has been so far centuries now. Even Akbar walked to the Dargah all the way from Agra. Every year, during the Urs, lakhs of Muslim devotees gather here to pay homage to the Garib Nawaz, the protector of the poor. If you want to see an altogether different side of this sleepy little town then make sure you're here during the annual Urs. This town where very little activity seems to be going on, on normal days, suddenly turns into a bustling, lively place. While you're around the dargah, don't miss seeing the beautiful Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpra with its ornate calligraphic inscriptions. There are other areas of interest like the Taragarh Fort and the Ana Sagar Lake with its marble pavilions.

 

Udaipur

Famous for its beautiful lakes and palaces, the enchanting view of Udaipur nestles in a valley among the lush hills of the Aravallis, on the banks of the shimmering lake Pichhola. The area of Mewar extends to the borders of Gujarat to the south and north to include the ancient fort of Kumbhalgarh and temple complex at Ranakpur. The beautifully carved "Lake Palace" situated in the midst of lake Piccholla, now converted in a hotel, the only type in the world that offers the luxury and feel of staying in a Maharaja style.
